Not salt tolerant of inundation by salty or brackish water.



Low/no tolerance of salty wind or direct salt spray

Slow growing. Nut and leaf litter may be a maintenance problem in residential landscapes.

Small mammals (squirrels and other rodents) consume nuts.

Dry hammocks, dry hardwood forests
